SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION

This report refers to the special inspection conducted by Mr. J. L. Crews of

this office on January 11, 1988 and subsequent telephone discussions between

Mr. Crews and Dr. Miller of your staff on February 16 and 26,1988, of

activities authorized by NRC License No. R-73, and to the discussion of the

inspection findings held by Mr. Crews with Drs. Miller and Robkin at the i

conclusion of the inspection. l

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection

report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective l

examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with

personnel, and observations by the inspector. No violation or deviations were ,

identified within those areas examined. l

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure

will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
