March 21, 1988 MEMORANDUM AND ORDER On March 15, 1968 NRC Staff Counsel sought an extension of time to respond to an intervention petition filed by the State of Vermont. The request was telephoned to the Board's Chairp2rson who indicated that an extension appeared appropriate and that the Staff counsel was instructed to file the motion in writing. NRC Staff Motion to Extend Time in Wh.ich to Respond to State of Vermont's Petition to Intervene was filed on March 15, 1988 and seeks the extension to March 23, 1988. The State of

Vermont has indicated to Staff counsel that they do not object.
In view of Intervenor's concurrence and the need for time expressed by Staff, the Staff's motion is oranted.
As requested by another Board dealing with a different aspect of the Vennont Yankee Nuclear Power Station, this Board directs that each member of the Board be provided with a copy of the application for amendment dated November 30, 1987 together with any updated information concerning the application which may have been filed with the NRC.
