Dear Mr. Fish:

SMUD has begun development of scenarios to support the 1988 Drill and Exercise Program.

Ae part of this effort, a Scenario Review Group (SRG) has been established.

Representative.. rom SMUD, the counties, and the State have been identified to serve on the Rancho Seco Drill and Exercise Scenario Review Group.

These personnel will be responsible for reviewing the scenario packages developed to meet the requirements established in NUREG 0654/ FEMA-REP 1, Section N, "Drills and Exercises."

NRC's involvement in the SRG will help to minimize NRC's 4

revisions to the Drill / Exercise Packages during regulatory review.

NRC's SRG participation will also streamline our development process.

Please provide the name of a representative from your organization to ser ' on the SRG.

It will help if the candidate is expected to serve as an eva' or during 1988 NRC graded Drills and Exercises. Monthly SRG meetings are he.
