i This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. A. Finn of this office on August 21 and 22, 1978, of activities authorized by NRC Byproduct Material License No. 21-14810-01 and to the discussion i

of our findings with Mr. James D. k'i11enberg of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your licens* as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, independent measurements, and interviews with personnel.

l During this inspection, certain of yeur activities appeared to be in noncompliance with NRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Appendix A.

are still incomplete.

This notice is sent to you pursuant to the provisions of Section l'

2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part'2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Section 2.2M requires you to submit to this office within twenty days of your a sceipt of this notice a written statement or explanation in reply, u cluding for each item of non-compliance: (1) corrective action taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective action to be taken to avoid further noncompliance; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
