Renewal of NRC Certificate of Compliance for the Model No. LP-50, USA /6678/B( ), NRC Docket No. 71-6678.
This refers to your letter to our office dated December 30, 1987, requesting additional information on the Model No. LP-50 Safety Analysis Report for Packaging (SARP).
Regarding this request please consider the following:
BACKGROUND The LP-50 package involves two configurations, the original configuration (serial numbers below 1066) and a modified configuration (serial numbers 1066 through and including 1142), which were described in two separate revisions of the same SARP, Revision 1 and Revision 2, respectively.
The current NRC certificate (No. 6678, Rev. 4) approves the original configuration, serial numbers below 1066, for use.
00E PLAN TO PROVIDE INFORMATION o Since the current NRC Certificate approves the original configuration of the Model No. LP-50, our request for renewal will be limited to only the original configuration.
The modified configuration will no longer be considered and the associated packaging hardware is being taken out of service and placarded against further use.
