Commonwealth Edison Company encloses forty (40) copies of the report, " Operational Environmental Monitoring

in Lake Michigan near Zion Station - July 1977 through June 1978.
Volumes I-IV."
This report is submitted in fulfillment of the requirements set forth in Appendix B, Environmental Technical Specifications for Zion Station Units 1 and 2, Zion, Illinois, Commonwealth Edison Company, Docket Numbers 50-295 and 50-304.
In addition, included in the report are the results of the special benthos sampling which were done according to the proposal attached to our January 17, 1978 correspondence.
This sampling was in support of our December 13,.s977 request and subsequent agreements with your staff.
In effect, we asked the Zion Station be limited to its prenent maximum heat rejection and water usage capacity.
T1a study indicated no measurable effects on the benthos from station operation at AT's greater than 20 F and discharge temperatures during recirculation greater than 55 F.
Three (3) signed originals and thirty-seven (37) copies of this transmittal are provided for your use.
