50-328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SQN) - UNITS 1 AND 2 - NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-327/87-52 AND 50-328/87-52, SQN ESSENTIAL RAW COOLING WATER (ERCW)

SYSTEM AS-BUILT VERIFICATION INSPECTION - REVISED VIOLATION RESPONSE Stewart D. Ebneter's letter to S. A. White dated September 25, 1987, transmitted Inspection Report 87-52. 'TVA responded to this inspection report with a letter from R. L. Gridley to NRC dated November 10, 1987.

In TVA's response to violation 87-52-01, we committed to the following:

... an instrument engineering requirements specification will be issued requiring valves be tagged and identified on engineering output drawings.

Implementation of this specification is expected by March 15'~1988."

The preparation and approval of an engineering specification have required significant coordination among the Division of Nuclear Engineering, Division of Nuclear Construction, and the operators to resolve conflicts and produce a procedure that can be effectively and efficiently implemented by all affected organizations.

The instrument engineering requirements specification was approved and issued on March 2, 1988.

Site procedures are being revised to fully implement the specification, and t

full implementation of the above commitment will be in effect by May 29, 1988.

The commitment made in this submittal is stated on the enclosure.

ENCLOSURE Revised Commitments for SON 1.

The instrument engineering requirements specification was approved and issued on March 2, 1988. Because of this delay in issuing the instrument engineering requirements specification and the large number of site procedures still requiring revision to fully implement the specification, full implementation of the above cosmitment is not expected until May 29, 1988.
