Pursuant to this Board's Order establishing October 24 as the date for a prehearing conference, the various Petitioners for intervention have submitted proposed contentions.
Applicant, Staff and Petitioners are in the process of negotiating these proposed contentions with the hope of arriving at an agreeable stipulation of contentions and procedures.
10 CFR Section 2.714 is silent as to the time frame within which responses to pro-posed contentions are due.
However, Applicant maintains that responses are permitted.
However, rather.than file such re-sponses at this time, inasmuch as the above described negotiations may obviate the need for such, Applicant requests that the time within which it may respond be extended to October 24.
