Thank you for your letter dated November 13, 1978, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the noncompliance items identified in our letter dated October 27, 1978. With regard to Items 1, 3, 4 and 5, we have no further questions at this time.
With regard to Item 2, while your letter states that corrective action will be achieved by an appropriate license amendment, it should be understood that no activity is in accord with NRC regulatory requirements unless and until it is specifically authorized in an NRC license.
Therefore, you should discontinue the use of the unauthorized source and place it in locked storage until your license is amended. We will examine these matters during a future inspection.
