1 The Nmth NRC Regulatory Information Conference will be held on April 1-2,1997, at The Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. The preliminary agenda for the conference is attached i

4 along with an information sheet, a hotel floor plan, an area map, and a special registration form developed for NRC and interested metropolitan area government agency employees. Please disseminate this information, invite, or designate people on your staff to attend the conference.

We want to encourage attendance, but we also need to maintain the number of attendees at a reasonable level. Attendees from your organization should complete and return the attached registration fonn to Anna May Haycraft-Popp, mail stop O-12 E20, by March 10,1997.

A limited number of Metro Passes will be available on a first-come first-served basis fmm Pam O' Dell at 0-12 E20 or Tajuan Carter at O-12 H3 from March 24-28.

$38, and for lunch on April 2 is $36. A Special Registration Form for use by NRC and other metropolitan area govemment agency employees is attached. This form will enable you to pre-register and pre-pay for the Conference, and will save you considerable time in the registration lines. Onsite Conference registration will commence in Foyer 1 on Monday evening, March 31, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Registration will resume in Foyer 1 and on the Capital Tenace on April 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and again on April 2 from 7:00 a.m. until noon. NRC and other metro-politan area government agencies will have a special area for registration. Payment at that time can be cash, credit card, or certified check made payable to The Capital Hilton Hotel. No personal checks will be accepted at the Conference. Meal tickets will be provided with your name badge and registration package upon registration.

TRANSPORTION AND PARKING:

The Capital Hilton Hotel is located at the comer of 16th and K Streets, NW,just two blocks from The White House. For those taking the Metro, the hotel is located two blocks from the Farragut 1

North Metro Stop on the Red Line and two blocks from the McPherson Square Metro Stop on the Blue / Orange line. From the Farragut North Metro Stop, take the K Street Exit and walk two blocks east. MEETING ROOMS:

The Presidential Ballroom will be used for the Opening and Closing Sessions, Plenary Sessions, and for the largest breakout sessions. The Congressional / Senate Room will be used for the second largest breakout sessions, and for the lunches on April 1 and 2,1997. There will be a 45-minute break' before lunch on April 1 and 2 to allow the hotel to reset the room from a breakout session to a luncheon setup. Dunng that time (12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.), the hotel will host a free reception in the Upper Lobby / Foyer 2 areas. There will also be a 30-minute break on April 2 from 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
