Dear Sir:
Per Reference (a), the NRC Staff requested Commonwealth I
Edison Company to submit overpressure protect *on' technical specifications for Zion Station to ensure the operability of j
the overpressure protection system and to require the disabling of any. equipment such'as charging-pumps or safety injection pumps.
Reference (a) also contained model technical specifica-tions for Commonwealth Edison's use in' preparing the requested submittal..
Commonwealth Edison is currently drafting the requested technical specification changes.
Since most of the proposed changes are currently being performed by procedure at Zion Station, a major effort is required to adapt the existing pro-cedures' terminology to that of the model technical specifications contained in Reference (a).
Therefore, Commonwealth Edison will require additional time in order to prepare a good clean, clear submittal with appropriate cross references.
Thus, with your concurrence, commonwealth Edison will submit the requested technical specification changes for overpressure protection by
