COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES)

DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 CONDENSATE STORAGE TANK OVERPRESSURIZATION SDAR:

CP-87-28 (FINAL REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On December 2,1987, we notified you by our letter logged TXX-6992 of a deficiency involving the ca)acity of the condensate storage tank (CSI), which we determined to be reporta)le under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

This is our final report on this issue to provide the schedule for completion of the corrective action.

Actions taken to resolve this deficiency (described in TXX-6992) consist of adding a safety-related control feature for the CST level transmitters which isolates CST makeup using redundant safety grade valves when the' CST high level setpoint is reached. This addition will be completed by May 16, 1988, for Unit 1 and prior to hot functional testing for Unit 2.

Very truly yours, W. G. Counsil By: CAW.kM _
