Dear Mr. MacDonald:

We would like to be registered as a user of the Savannah River Shipping Cask (USA /6642/B - 4.5 Tons, Cf-252). We have received a set of user instructions, pictures, sketches, etc.,

for tie-down, shipping, and loading / unloading of the cask from Mr. A. R. Boulogne at Savannah River Lab.

Our radioactive material license is ARK-064-INC-12-80, which covers the use and possession of Cf-252.

Also, I might say, we have previously received and used several Cf-252 sources, which were shipped in smaller casks.

It is planned that we should receive a Cf-252 shipment in the cask in about 2 to 3 weeks.

I hope this is sufficient time to become a registered user.

Sincerely yours,

. O klL C. O. Cogburn, Director Nuclear Engineering Program COC/vs
