SUBJECT:

COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION DOCKET N05. 50-445 AND 50-446 EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATIONS SDAR: CP-87-36 (FINAL REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On July 15, 1987, we verbally notified your Mr. Ian Barnes of a deficiency involving evaluations which indicate that the vendor equipment qualification reports for equipment furnished in accordance with several Balance of Plant project specifications contain deficiencies and discrepancies. Our most recent interim report was logged TXX-6995, dated November 23, 1987.

Our evaluation concludes that the deficiencies in the vendor reports do not affect the qualification status of the equipment. Documentation supporting our conclusion is available onsite for your inspector's review.

Very truly yours,

/ V W. G. Counsil WJil/grr c-Mr. R. D. Martin, Region IV Resident inspectors, CPSES (3) 8801210019 DR 860111 ADOCK 050 5 400 North Olne Sirret LB BI ikilas. Tessus ?!201 llg
