An NRC inspection was conducted November 4-7,1996, at your Trojan Nuclear Plant.
The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection.

The inspection covered the work in progress at Trojan related to the decommissioning of

the facility. Specific areas reviewed during this inspection included emergency
.
preparedness, radwaste system operability, radiological environmental monitoring program,
l
health physics activities associated with the decontamination of plant areas, ar;d
l
completion of the final survey for the location planned for the Independent Spent Fuel
l
Storage installation.
j
in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
