50-499A Gentlemen:
During the month of September,1978 the NRC Staff has essentially completed the review of approximately 30,000 discovery documents made available by Central Power & Light pursuant to the filed stipulation.
The Staff has recently received copies of documents selected at the offices of Houston Lighting & Power Co.
In addition, the Staff selected documents from the offices of Texas Utilities Company and its subsidiaries during September.
The Staff wishes also to advise the Board that an antitrust trial on the merits commenced on October 3,1978 in the United States District l
Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, in the matter of _ West Texas Utilities Co. v. Texas Electric Service Co., flo. CA-3, 76-0533F.
It is anticipated by the parties to that proceeding that the trial will take approximately four to six weeks.
The parties to that case are the named entities plus Central Power & Light Co., Houston l
Lighting & Power Co., Texas Utilities Co., Texas Power & Light Co., and Dallas Power & Light Co.
