On September 26, 1978, The Detroit Edison Company l

(" Applicant") announced that the schedule for completion of Greenwood Units 2 and 3 is being extended to 1989 for Unit 2 and 1991 for Unit 3. 1 Given the review schedule discussed in the August '

31 letter from Mrs. Friedell to you and the probability that lengthy public hearings will thereafter be required, Applicant believes that no further delay in the licensing process is justified by the change in scheduled completion l dates for Units 2 and 3. Accordingly, Applicant plans to complete the filing _of an amendment to the Greenwood Preliminary Safety Analysis Report and a supplement to the Greenwood Environmental Report by the end of this year and i
