This refers to your application dated August 2,1977, as amended, requesting approval to deliver the Model No. CNSI-14-195L packaging to a carrier for transport.
In connection with our review, we need the information identified in the enclosure to this letter.
Please advise us within thirty (30) days from the date of this letter when this information will be provided. The additional information requested by this letter and previously provided should be submitt.ed in the form of a consolidated safety analysis report including referenced information in other applications.

Revise the analysis for the free end drop to include the following:
1.
The end plate response for the impact impulse being applied through the flexible cask side walls.
The dissipation of.the impact kinetic energy may be localized at the point of impact.
If the side walls-are to be assumed rigid, justification should be provided or it should be shown that the assumption is conservative.
2.
An evaluation of the primary lid due to an impact on the primary lid end of the cask.
Consider contents inertial loads for this evaluation.
3.
Show that the stresses in the secondary lid (no reinforcenent plate added) and on the inner edge of the primary lid meet the specified criteria.
