WITHHOLDING FROM PUBLIC DISr.LOSURE - AMENDMENT 3 TO WAPWR RESAR SP/90 PDA MODULE 9, "INSTRUAENTATION & CONTROLS AND ELECTRIC POWER" - .

AW-87-131 By your application dated December 17, 1987, and affidavit dated November 1, 1982, you submitted copies of Amendment 3 te WAPWR RESAR-SP/90 PDA Mcdule 9 "Instrumentation & Controls and Electric Power" and requested withholding from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790. A non-proprietary version of these reports was also submitted. You stated that the submitted information should be considered exempt from mandatory public disclosure for the reasons which were submitted in affidavit AW-82-57 with letter dated February 27, 1985.

In your letter dated December 17, 1987, you stated that the application contains commercial strategic information proprietary to Westinghouse and customarily held in confidence.

We have reviewed your application and the material based on the requirements and criteria of 10 CFR 2.790 and, on the basis of your statements, have determined that the submitted information sought to be withheld contains trade secrets or proprietary commercial information.

We have determined that Amendment 3 to WAPWR RESAR SP/90 Module 9. "Instrumen-tation & Controls from public andpursuant disclosure Electric Power,"

to 10 CFR marked 2.790(bas(5)p)roprietary, and Sectionshould 103(b) be withheld of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended.

We therefore approve your request for withholding pursuant of 10 CFR 2.790 and are withholding the above stated documents and information from public )

i inspection as proprietary. '

Withholding from public inspection shall not affect the right, if any, of persons properly and directly concerned to inspect the documents. If the need ,

arises, we may send copies of this information to our consultr.nts working in  ;

this area. We will, of course, insure that the consultants have signed the I appropria'a agreements for handling proprietary inforniation. If the basis for withholding this information from public disclosure should change in the future such that the information could then be made available for public .
