Dear Mr. Shadis:

This is to confirm that the Commission has granted your request to participate in the Briefing on Maine Yankee scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 1997. The briefing will be held in the Commission's Conference Room on the First Floor of our headquarters building at One White Flint North, Rockville, Maryland.

As Mr. William Hill of my staff has informed you, thereThe is no limit on the written material you may wish to submit. time for your oral presentation, however, is limited to 5 minutes. In order to provide the Commission an opportunity to prepare for your presentation, please send 10 copies of your written material, including any briefing visuals, to Mr. Hill by Thursday, January 30. If you prefer, you may fax your material to Mr. Hill at (301) 415-1672. We also require approximately 90 copies of your material on the day of the meeting for members of the public. If you are unable to provide these copies, please advise us.

The Commission meeting facility has a sophisticated television graphics system. For optimum use, we are enclosing guidelines The for preparing your briefing visuals, if you plan to use any.

Normally we anticipate that a member of your party familiar with your presentation will be in our Audiovisual Room to display your visuals. If this is not possible, one set of the text and visuals should be appropriately marked to indicate when you desire each visual to be displayed. Your cooperation in this matter is requested so we can provide smooth coordination between your presentation and the graphics display.

Our office is located adjacent to the White Flint Metro Station at 11555 Rockville Pike and Marinelli Drive. The White Flint Station is on the Red Line of the Washington area subway system.

The trip from Metro Center takes about 40 minutes. There is reserved visitor parking for Commission guests in the building garage. Entrance is at the rear of the building. Please check with the security staff at the entrance to the garage when you arrive. If you plan to use reserved parking, please notify us in advance so that we can alert the security staff.
