20555 Gentlemen:
In accordance with the ?:hedule established by the Board in its December 21, 1987 Memora tm and Order (Ruling on Applicant's Motion of November 6, 1987 tar Summary Disposition of the WALK Radio Issue), Suffolk County, the State of New York, and the Town of Southampton (the "Governments") hereby submit their "Emergency Planning Contention Relating to LILCO's New Emergency 'Jroadcast System Proposal."
Three comments are necessary with.espect to the submitted contention.
First, although the contention has been organized into four individual subparts, those subparts cannot be viewed in isolation or without reference to the contention of which they are a part.
Rather, the contention must be read in its entirety, with the subparts viewed as providing the specific bases for the contention's focus.
Second, as of the date of this filing, the Governments still have not received Revision 9 of LILCO's Plan.
Thus, the Getarnments reserve the right to amend, delete or otherwise modify tnis contention, and to submit additional contentions, after Revision 9 becomes available.
Third, should either the NRC Staff or LILCO decide to respond to the submitted contention by opposing its admission, the 8901190040 880112 PDR ADOCK 05000322
