Enclosed is an export license application from Edlow Interr,3tional Company for a licens to export 1,500,000 kilograms of natural urariat, as UF, for enrichment a c Eurodif, Pierrelatte, France and for return to the Unithd States for fabrication into fuel elements. The material will be used ultimately in nuclear power reactors in Taiwan.

Before taking action on this application, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the proposed export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.

I attach for your kind consideration an application to export natural (unenriched) uranium hexafluoride (UF 6) to the Eurodif enrichment facility in France on behalf of the Taiwan Power Cocpany.

After enrichment the material will be returned to the United States for further processing (fabrication), prior to re-export for use in Coninercial power reactors operated by the Taiwan Power Company.
