Schwencer to Cordell Reed requesting schedule for submittal of a revised ECCS evaluation for Zion Station
Dear Sir:
Per Reference (a), Commonwealth Edison Company was requested to provide the NRC Staff with a schedule for sub-mittal of a revised analysis of ECCS cooling performance for Zion Station Units 1 and 2.
This analysis is to be calculated in accordance with the revised Westinghouse ECCS evaluation model approved by the NRC Staff in August 1978.
Westinghouse has currently scheduled a revised analysis for the Zion units to begin in late October 1978.
Upon receipt of the results of this analysis Commonwealth Edison l
will prepare, review and approve the appropriate Zion Station Technical Specification changes associated with the revised analysis for submittal to the NRC Staff.
Based on the above, Commonwealth Edison's current

schedule for submittal to the NRC Staff of the required revised ECCS analysis and its associated technical specification changes is January 5, 1979.
