WELD DEFECTS NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS HOPE CREEK G EN ERA TING STATION

Reference:

NRC letter to PSE&G dated August 22, 1978 This is a final report concerning the defects found in the Jet Deflector Gusset to Drywell Shell Welds.

The investigation into this problem has been completed and it has been concluded that, had the defects identified remained uncorrected, they would not have adversely affected the safety of operations of the plant at any time throughout the expected lifetime.

Therefore, we do not consider the deficiency reportable under NRC Regulation 10CFR50.55(e).

Documentation of the investigation will be available for your future inspection.
