Rer Lfcense No. SNM-1227 Docket No. 70-1257 Our Special NucTear MateriaT License No.1227 presently provides for storage of finished fuel assemblies awaiting shipment as indicated in Paragraph I-5.9.4, on page I-5.45.
It is requested license be amended as indicated 'on the attached revised.that the page I-5.45 to permit similar storage of other fuel forms awaiting shipment.
A check in the amount of $150.00 is enclosed as the application fee for the requested amendment in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 170.31.

The quarantine tank area shall be en-closed by a four-inch high curb to contain any leaks that may occur in the interconn'ecting piping or flanges. This array e

5.9.3 Retention Tanks In the unlikely' event of an inadvertent release that would cause liquid waste containing elevated levels of uranium to l
be diverted to the retention tanks for interim storage, the retention tank shall then be identified, posted and controlled as a Radioactive Materials Area.

Packaged fuel ** awaiting shipment shall be stored either in the warehouse or on a paved area outside of the UO, Build-j ing.
