This is in response tc your letter tc Cheirren Palladiro, datnd Decettbe 20, 1985, on the subject of aptitude testieg. \\'e are in basic agreement with the key points exrressed in your lettor.
Specifically, we agree that "p+rsonnel selection precedures are importart to the accuisitirin of a cerpetent ruclear power plant staff" and that " aptitude testing can bc 5 valuable aid in screanirg porsner.el for placement into various nuclaar ptwr plant training programs and safety-related job essignrents."
Currently, the NPC does not recuire aptituda testing et licensed f acilities.
The NPC's Policy Statement nn training and cualificatiens cedersed INPO's Accreditation Program and deferred FDC ruitrakirg en teatrine for a two-year trial period. I an forwardina your Mtar to INFO to cbtain fornelly their view! cc your proposal. Aler, as part nf nur evaluation of INPD's Accreditation Prrgram, the staff will considor aptituda tasting.
