EMERGENCY RESPONSE FACILITY STAFFING TIMES FOR JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 (1AC NOS. M80672 AhD M80673)

On - Jt.ly 24, 1992, we met with your staff to discuss the staffing times g?

'specified in your emergency plan for the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Piant, Units I and 2 (Farley), Technical Support Center and Emergency Operations Facility.

Ir. the meeting, your staff presented conceptual changes to the Farley emergency plan to significantly revise your program and resolve our concerns Lwith respect to the length of time required to staff these facilities.

A formal meeting summary will De issued separately.

-The generalL concepts presented by your staff appear, if implemented, to result in a: significant improvement over your existing program.

As only conceptual inforration was provided at the meeting, we are interested in reviewing the details of the-changes when a written submittal is received.

In.the interim, we encourage dialogue between your staff and ours as you are finalizing the 1 changes to ensure that the appropriate requirements and our concerns are addressed.

Until a submittal containing details of the changes is received, we request

that you document the changer to the Farley emergency plan that you proposed i

at the. July 1.4, 1992, meeting. We also request that you submit your schedule

.for developing and implementing the proposed chaages.

Please submit your letter with the requested information within 30 days of the receipt of this

1etter.
