SUBJECT: - NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50 395/97-09
Dear Mr. Taylor
On July 711 - 199". he NRC conducted an inspection at your V. C. Summer reactor facility.
The enclosed no: # .. resents the results of that inspection.
The purpose of the inspection was to determine whether activities authorized by the licensee
were conducted safely and in accordance witt NRC requirements. Areas examined during

the inspection are identified in the report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and repressntanve records, interviews with personnal,
and observation of activities in progress,
in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and
its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR),
