1 I am responding to your letter of May 7,1997, to Mr. Callan in which you solicited a speaker from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for the annual EPRI Operational Reactor Safety Engineering & Review Groups (ORSERG)
Workshop (September 25 and 26, 1997). You requested that, given the focus cn design-basis issues, the speaker be one who could share the NRC perspective on the 10 CFR 50.54(f) and 10 CFR 50.59 issues. I have asked Ms. Marylee Slosson of my staff to speak at your upcoming workshop on these issues. Ms. Sicsson ,
is the Acting Director of the Division of Reactor Program Management. This division is responsible for program oversight of the resolution of the 10 CFR 50.54(f) and 50.59 issues.
