Dear Mr. Haynes:

This letter is to provide you with individual examination results for your applicants who took the April 1997 initial license examination. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790, this information is considered " proprietary." The enclosed information supplements and is in addition to the examination report which will be issued shortly.

The following information is enclosed with this letter:

Enclosure 1: Corpleted ES-501-2, Power Plant Licensing Examination Results Suinmary, which summarizes the examination results. All individuals passed the examination.

Enclosure 2: Operator License Examination Report, ES-303-l', and  ;

ES-303-2, if applicable. These reports provide individual examination results for each applicant.

Enclosure 3: ES-401-1, written examiriation and answer sheets for each applicant.  ;

i Enclosures 2 and 3 provide information identified by the examiners for each individual applicant. Through your Systems Approach to Training (SAT)

Program, we expect you will review the results and provide appropriate remedial training for individuals independent of their overall pass status.

Each applicant has authorized the release of this information to your facility by signing Block 19A of NRC Form 398.

As stated in our letter to the candidates dated April 15, 1997, licenses cannot be issued until we receive documentation from LaSalle County Nuclear Station management, using the certification statement in Item 19.b. on the NRC Form 398, stating that the candidates have completed the required minimum of five significant control manipulations in accordance with 10 CFR 55.31(a)(5). l In addition, as committed by LaSalle County Nuclear Station management in Mr. Subalusky's letter dated April 15, 1997, we understand that the candidates will participate in and satisfactorily complete all requalification requirements, as appropriate, following completion of the High Intensity Training Program.
