Dear Ms. Bell:
This is in response to your letter dated July 23, 1985, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), three separate categories of records relating to seismic hazards.
The records listed on the enclosed appendix are responsive to your request.
We are placing all of these records in the NRC's Public Document Room (PDR)
-in file folder F01A-85-535 except the records listed at numbers .1,10, and 32 of the appendix. The records listed at numbers 1 and 10 have previously been made available at the PDR. Please refer to the accession numbers listed by these two records if you wish to inspect them at the PDR.
Portions of the report listed at number 32 are being withheld as release of this information could cause substantial economic harm to the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Certain computer programs are contained in the report whicn are considered to be confidential trade secrets of EPRI.
The NRC has reviewed EPRI's proprietary claim and agrees that tt.ls computer program information is proprietary.
For the above reasons, portions of this report are being withheld from public disclosure pursuant to Exemption 4 of the F0IA (5 U.S.C. 552(b)(4)) and 10 CFR 9.5(a)(4) of the Commission's regulations. The releasable portion of the report is being placed in file folder F01A-85-535.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 9.9 of the Commission's regulations, it has been determined that the information is exempt from production or disclosure, and that its
! production or disclosure is contrary to the public interest. The persons responsible for this denial are the undersigned and Mr. Harold R. Denton, Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
