SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-483/97-08
Dear Mr. Randolph:
An NRC inspection was conducted March 17 through April 4,1997, at your Callaway Plant
reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection. The
final results of this inspection were discussed with Mr. Joe Laux of your staff on May 20,
1997.
Based on this inspection, we have determined that your corrective action program was
effective in identifying, resolving, and preventing issues that could degrade the quality of
plant operations or safety. Although we identified weaknesses involving the performance
of root causes for several suggestion-occurrence-solution reports, we are pleased that
these problems had already been identified by your staff. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be
placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss
them with vou.
