'J. C. Brons Letter to U.S. NRC, dated, August 2,1996, Response to NRC to Notice of Violations, inspection Report Nos. 50-373/374-96004 As part of the long term corrective actions to be taken to prevent further violations (50-373/374-96004-01), LaSalle County Station has committed to study various solutions to the problems caused by instrument sensing line configurations. The violation was due to an inadvertent injection of Emergency Core Cooling System into the reactor vessel that occurred while personnel were valving in the Reactor Vessel Level Indicating System (RVLIS) into service.
Because of the length of the current outage which began in Septomiser, 1996, and the prioritization of our work, the completion of this study has been deferred to the restart of either unit. Since the units are shutdown, there is no immediate impact in deferring this work.
