April 30,1997 Meeting between Comed and NRR concerning the results of the Braidwood Unit I steam generator locked tube inspections in the referenced meeting, Comed committed to provide an operability assessment for full cycle operation of Byron Unit I to address the results of the Braidwood Unit I steam generator locked tube inspections. The operability a isessment is attached. In this document, Comed presents justification for continued operation of Byron Unit I until the steam generator replacement outage, scheduled to begin no later)han mid-December 1997. In addition, this document provides a preliminary discussion o> leakage due to application ofInterim Plugging Criteria (IPC) considering the as-found versus predicted leakage values obtained at Braidwood Unit 1.
