Dear Mr. MacDonald:
The NRC Certificate of Compliance 5461 for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) TRU Curium Shipping Container will expire on June 30, 1986.
The DOE has a continued need for this' package by ORNL.
It is therefore requested that your office initiate a renewal of the Certificate of Compliance.
There have been no changes to the safety analysis report nor modifications to the package since the issuance of. the last certificate. Ten comercial shipments have been made utilizing this package. There have been no incidents.
