Dear Mr. Aftergood:

Thank you for your letter of December 2,1985 which requests that the Committee to Bridge the Gap be placed on a service list, and be kept informed, regarding the November 18, 1985 application by Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BG&E) for reduction of the Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) at Calvert Cliffs Units 1 and 2. A preliminary review of BG&E's November 18, 1985 application indicates a number of difficult technical and procedural issues that preclude early NRC action on the application. Since no public hearings are currently underway concerning the November 18, 1985 application, there is no service list associated with this matter. Should the opportunity for public hearing be offered, and should you make a request at that time, you will be placed on a service list. Until such time, the Calvert Cliffs Project Manager, Mr. D. H. Jaffe. (301 492-6140) will keep you informed of developments concerning the November 18, 1985 application as indicated in your recent telephone conversation with Mr. Jaffe.
