Enclosed is an appl.ication for an export license (XSNM02996), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export.cf~ natural uranium and-low-enriched uranium, in the form of uranium hexafluoride and uranium dioxide, to Sweden for use as reload fuel in Ringhals, Units 3 and 4.

. Assurances from EURATOM are required that_ the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation. -Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.

Please note that portions of the material are of Australian and Canadian origin.

Uranium ranging from natural up to a maximum of 4.95% enrichment,6,930 Kgs U-235 to be exported to Empresa Nacional Del Uranio, S.A. (ENUSA), British Nuclear Fuel Limited - BNFL, or Franco Belge De Fabrication De Combustibles - FBFC (fuel fabricators) with ultimate end use being reload fuel for Ringhals Nuclear Power Station, Sweden.

Enclosed is General Electric Company's check # 0012323395 in the amount of $3000.00 payable to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the processing and issuance of this license. This export license is required by early September 1997 to assure first shipment in September 1997.
