Vogtle Electric Generating Plcnt-Units I and 2, 50-424, 50-425; Cable Tray Hold-Down Clip Installation; also GN-716, dated October 9, 1985 Attention: Mr. J. Nelson Grace In previous correspondence on this subject, Georgia Power Company indicated that we expected to inform the NdC of the results of our evaluation by December 20, 1985.
Previously, Georgia Power Company had discovered that some of the spring nuts used on cable tray hold-down clips had not been torqued to specification requirements.
An evaluation determined that a reportable condition as defined by Parts 10 CFR 50.55(e) and Part 10 CFR 21 did not exist for the. reduced torque condition alone.
Georgia Power Company, however, has expanded its evaluation to address the reduced torque connection occurring simultaneously with the skewed nut condition previously reported by Georgia Power Company (see X7BG03-M50, GN-393, dated July 30, 1984).
At this time, Georgia Power Company expects to inform.the NRC of the results of the expanded evaluaticn by April 25, 1986.
This response contains no proprietary information and may be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
