Transportation Certification Branch Approval Record Model No. CNS 8-120A Package Docket No. 71-6601 s

By application dated August 23, 1985, as supplemented, Chem-Nuclear Systems, Inc. requested renewal of Certificate of Compliance No. 6601 for the Model No. CNS 8-120A (formerly CNS 8-120) packaging. The applicant requested that the presently authorized package contents be limited to low specific activity material only. In support of their request for renewal, the applicant submitted a consolidated safety analysis report.

A review of the consolidated application confinned that the presently i referenced application of November 19, 1979, as supplemented, had been incorporated into the consolidated safety analysis report. The report has been revised to address those requirements pertinent to the shipment of low specific activity material.

The' applicant has redrawn the packaging drawings on their format, assigning a new drawing ntnber. The drawing was reviewed and a detennination made that all information shown on the previously referenced ATCOR, Inc.

drawings is shown on the Chem-Nuclear Systems, Inc. Drawing No. 29008-1, Sheets 1 and 2.

Based on the staff's review of the consolidated safety analysis report and the conditions stated in the certificate of compliance, the staff concludes that the requirenent for renewal of the certificate of compliance has been satisfied. .
