Modification No. 1 to Contract No. NRC-04-96-070 entitled " Technical Assistance for the New Thermal-Hydraulics Code Planning" l
Dear Dr. Mahaffy:
The subject contract expired on September 30, 1996, and we are initiating closecut action.
However, pending completion of all required closeout requirements, it is necessary to deobligate j
excess. funds remaining under this contract for other immediate j
agency requirements.
Therefore, enclosed for your review and execution are three (3) signed copies of the subject modification deobligating-excess funds in the amount of $6,177.40.
Please have an appropriate official sign all three (3) copies and return two (2) copies to the address below within ten (10) days from date of this letter.
You should retain one (1) fully executed copy for your files.

NRC-04-96-070 Page 2 Of 2 Based on available information it appears that there are excess funds remaining under this contract. Therefore, the-purpose of this modification is to decrease the amount obligated by the Commission, as follows:
Section B.3. Considerations and Obligation - Time and Materials Contract, paragraph (d) is decreased by $6.177.40 from $12.256.00 to $6.078.60.
Therefore, paragraph (d) is deleted and the following substituted in 1.ieu thereof:
