April 30,1997, Meeting between the Commonwealth Edison Company and the Nuclear Regulatory Regarding the AIR 06 Inspection Results for Braidwood Unit 1 During the Referenced Meeting, the Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) identified a concern to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) relative to engineering analyses performed by Westinghouse in support of steam generator 3 Volt Interim Plugging Criteria licensing. The issue is the identification during April 1997 of tests performed by Westinghouse, during late 1995, as a part of field qualifications for the 3 Volt IPC tube locking process. The Staff discussed that Comed needs to be aware of all data and supporting information related to engineering analyses, inspection and repair process which impact steam generator tube integrity for the apphcation of 3 Volt Criteria. Comed agrees with the Staff, and considers the complete disclosure of supporting information to be critical. We are actively pursuing resolution of this issue with Westinghouse and expect feedback by July 15,1997.
