Surveillance Test Interval To 123 Days Gentlemen:

By letter dated. October 7,1996, (2CAN109603), Entergy Operations submitted a request to change the Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 2 (ANO-2) Technical Specifications to extend the PPS surveillance test interval to 123. days.

By letter dated February 10, 1997, (2CAN029701), Entergy Operations revised the original request after discussions with the staff regarding the removal of references to CE NPSD-576, "RPS/ESFAS Extended Test Interval Evaluation for 120 Day Staggered Testing," since this document had not been submitted to the NRC for review. The second letter failed to include the removal of a reference to CENPSD-576 located in the Technical Specification Bases for specifications 3/4.3.1 and 3/4.3.2. The Attachment to this letter includes the revised bases page (B 3/4 3 1)

for the specifications with the reference to CE NPSD-576 removed. The attached changes do i

not affect the conclusions of the no significant hazards determination of the October 7,1996 submittal.
