Enclosed is an application for an export license (XSNM02992), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export of low-enriched uranium, in the form of uranium hexafluoride, to Japan for use as reload fuel in Genkai Unit 3.
Assurances from Japan are required that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation.
Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
Please note that a portion of the material is of Australian origin.
