Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 Docket No. 50-412 Dropped Rod Calculations Gentlemen:

Westinghouse has completed the dropped rod analysis for Cycle 1 of Beaver Valley Station, Unit 2 (BVPS-2).

It was performed utilizing the methodology in WCAP-10297-PA, " Dropped Rod Methodology for Negative Flux Rate Trip Plants."

Based upon this analysis, the NRC's restriction of operations above 90% power as described in the BVPS-2 Safety Evaluation Report (SER), Section 15.4.3, may be removed.

This completes confirmatory Item No. 42.

Please note that this is specific for Cycle 1 operation and is valid for the "Lemoniz" fuel, which will be used at BVPS-2.

Detail of the "Lemoniz" fuel will be provided in. Amendment 12 to the Final Safety Analysis Report.
