Dear Dr. Jackson:
i Congratulations on your recent appointment as Chairperson, it is with rer.ewed hope that I send you this message: Louisiana Energy Services (LES) is proposing a uranium enrichment plant that threatens the land, air and water j
quality of Forest Grove and Center Springs, Louisiana.
I belleve that this facility is dangerous and totally unnecessary. Furthermore, the 1
s: ting of this facility between two low in:ome African-American communities is a clear example of savironmental racism and sets a dangerous precedent for other low income communities of color.
No community should be forced to host this dangerous facility. I ask that you use your authority to prevent LES from obtaining a permit to build the claibome Enrichment Center and ensure the envivenmental protection of local citizens.
