The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has transferred NRC project management l
responsibility for oversight of the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP) i from the Licensing Branch, Division of Fuel Cycle Safety and Safeguards l
l (FCSS), to the Low-Level Waste and Decommissioning Projects Branch, Division l
of Waste Management (DWM). Therefore, Jack D. Parrott has been named the West Valley project manager to replace Gary C. Comfort, Jr. Mr. Parrott will serve as the primary NRC point of contact for DOE, New York State, and other interested parties on the WVDP.
FCSS will continue to support DWM on l
operational and criticality safety issues that may arise in completing the l
vitrification campaign at West Valley.

In addition, please be aware that it is NRC policy that all formal and informal correspondence, regarding the WVDP, between NRC and DOE will be docketed and sent to NRC's public document room unless the correspondence is specifically identified by DOE as classified or proprietary at the time of i
submittal to NRC. Therefore, if you plan to submit documents which should not be placed in our public document room, please contact us prior to their submittal.
