Dear Dr. Jackson:
Congratulations on your recent appointment as Chairperson. It is with renewed hope that I send you this message: Louisiana Energy Services (LES) is proposing a uranum enrichment plant that threatens the land, air and water quality of Forest Grove and Corder Springs, Louisiana.
I believe that this facility is dangerous and to:sily unnecessary. Furthermore,the siting of this facility between two low incona African-American communities is a clear example of environmental racism and sets a dangerous precederd for other low income communities of color.
No community should be forced to host this dangerous facility. I ask that you use your authority to prevent LES from obtaining a permit to build the Claibome Enrichment Center and ensure the environmental protection of local citizens.
