Dear Dr. Jackson:
Qongratulations on your recent appointment as Chairperson. It is with renewed hope that i send you this massa 0e: Louisiana Energy Services (LES) is I
proposing a uranium enrichment plant that threatens the land, air and water quality of Forest Grove and Center SprinOs, Louisiana.
I believe that this facility is dangerous and totally unnecessary. Furthermore, the siting of this facility between two low income African-American communities is a clear example of environmental racism and sets a dangerous precedent for other low income communities of color.
No community should be forced to host this dangerous facility. I ask that you use your authority to prevent LES from obtaining a permit to t:uild the Claibome Enrichment Center and ensure the environmental protection of local citizens.
