Dear Dr. Jackson:
Congratulations on your recent appointment as Chairperson. It is with renewed j
hope that I send you this message: Louisiana Energy Services (LES) is proposing a uranium enrichment plant that threatens the land, air and water l
quality of Forest Grove and Center Springs, Louisiana.
I believe that this facility is dangerous and totally unnecessary. Furthermore, the siting of this facility between two low income African-American communities is j
a clear example of savironmental racism and sets a dangerous prec6 dent for I
other low income communities of color.
No community should be forced to host this dangerous fscility. I ask that you use your authority to prevent LES from obtaining a permit to build the Claibome Enrichment enter and ig the environmental protection of local citizens.
