FISCAL YEAR 1998 CHARGE FOR NRC SERVICES

Dear Sir:

As you are aware, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) performs services regarding nuclear-powered warships upon request of the United States Navy. Section 3, " Funding," of the " Memorandum of Understanding Between the United States Navy and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission" (MOU), contains-a. provision for adjustment of the charge to the Navy for such services.,

Based on our evaluation, NRO will charg'e a flat rate of $347 for each service performed during fiscal year l(FY) 1998.

In accordancelwith the terms of the MOU, this letter is an appendix to the MOU. Your' acceptance of this appendix will be indicated by your memorandum to the NRC' providing the required fiscal information discussed in Section 3 of the MOU. This fiscal information is. requited before any services for FY 1998 could be performed. >
